We are a national NGO, called ‘Visionary Foundation Pakistan’ registered by Joint Stock Companies, Government of Sindh vide registration Number KAR No 0036 0f 2010-11.
We are recognized by the British Council and rewarded with ‘Active Citizen of the Year 2009-10’ award on 19 January, 2010 at British Council Regional Symposium Youth in Action for Global Change and Social Action Project Award Ceremony at Islamabad. Due to our active participation in community development, we have the honor of being nominated by Youth Parliament of Pakistan and selected by South Asian Youth Committee to attend the ‘South Asian Youth Conference’ due to be held on 23-28 May, 2011 at Banglore, India.
Our mission is to work for the betterment of humanity. Our aim is to identify the areas which concern society and render services to our capacity. Our objectives are to improve the awareness about healthcare, education and capacity-building for poverty alleviation through mobilization of our human resource.Our team is a true blend of youth and experience. While the human resource is mostly the young field workers and volunteers school/college students; however, our driving force is generated through educationist, doctors, engineers, lawyers and social workers. Few of our hallmarks are mentioned below:-
We are working with ‘Pakistan Association of Blinds’, and have translated 4 books in Braille. We have encouraged and facilitated 15 blinds to complete their matriculation to graduation from University of Karachi. We have carried-out number of awareness programs in support of Persons with Especial Needs. About 3000 people were educated and trained on the subject during 2009-2010 and 2010-11. Certification of which was rendered by Pakistan Association of Blinds. Workshops for the awareness to the drivers of public transport about blinds were also organized. The efforts were duly recognized by city government and appreciated by Mustafa Kamal, City Nazim Karachi, BBC Urdu, Dawn News Paper / Channel and Express Tribune. A web-based radio channel ‘Radio Vision Pakistan’ has also been launched on 27 Feb 2011 for capacity building of people with impaired vision. The channel is aimed at locating and providing the job market to the Persons with Especial Needs.
We have identified an area called ‘Rehri Goth’, a suburb locality of Karachi; where people were suffering from water-borne diseases. With the help of qualified consultants/doctors/ laboratory specialists, we conducted a free clinic on 4 April , 2010, so as to carry-out an in-depth survey and get the insight of prevailing diseases, their causes and effects. To accomplish this, we rendered one time free medicines with the help of our local contacts / pharmaceutical companies. In pursuit of rendering continuous health services we are running a Clinic and Mother and Child Care Centre , six days a week, called ‘Vision Welfare Clinic’ and “Vision Mother and Child Welfare Health Care Centre”; which has served more than 2000 patients till date with free of cost treatment and medicines.
We remained active during ‘Flood Relief Operations’. We mobilized our human resource and collected the goods from local populace and handed-over to Pakistan Air force Base Faisal. The goods were transported through C-130 aircraft to the flood affected areas. Our services were duly recognized by the Base Commander.
We are working with City Institute of Image Management (CIM) under the umbrella of City District Government Karachi. Our focus areas are Women empowerment, Capacity building of Youth and Skill enhancement & professional development.
We have participated in various National and International Conference such as International Youth Day Celebration organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Habib University Foundation on 12th August 2011 and Asian Youth Conference and Peace Festival at Lahore organized by UNFPA and Chanan Development Association in the month of Sep – 2011.
We are currently working as a volunteer partner with British Council Pakistan on National Social Action Project on Education called “ILM POSSIBLE”, and leading the group that is working on govt. teachers specially and on proving quality education in govt. schools.
In view of the impressive services rendered by our NGO, City District Govt Karachi has agreed to our proposal of “Government Schools Reforms Programs” for identifying the rogue government schools and hand over to us for providing quality education to the poor.
