Our first social action project was a unique project and because of that project we nominated and selected for the “Active Citizen of the Year 2009-2010”; was “Braille Syllabus Books”. After getting that recognition from British Council. We are running more than 9 Project those are:

1.1st Pakistan Blind Youth Conference:

Inspired to change the fortunes of persons with disabilities in Pakistan, Visionary Foundation Pakistan is planning “1st Pakistan Blinds Youth Conference” to be held inMarch 2012 in Karachi, Pakistan. Pakistan Blind Youth Conference (PBYC) is a youth forum targeting young people and those with disabilities who are of the age of 18-30 years. The conference has been designed to guide the young individuals to inhibit leadership skills and to challenge them into transformative acts of service. Moreover, this 3-day competition based workshop will enhance the creativity, dynamism and critical thinking skills of the participants through a series of challenging mind boggling activities.

2.Braille Syllabus Books Project:

Type: Children Islamic Story Book
Method Used for Transcription : Manual (Because of non availability of technological solutions. Like Braille Printer, Composer, Embosser.
Time Spend : Me with my 5 team members worked 3 hours daily to transcribe a 34 Pager Children Islamic Story Book-Part One. We completed One Book in 20 Days. Just like that we completed Part 2 and 3 of Story Book. manually and a full fledge project has been made for further publishing in a large scale ie. 10000 Syllabus Books.

3.Audio Syllabus Books Project:

For Those persons who are blind and does not know Braille Language, we recorded these story books in Audio as well, so they can equally get benefited.

4.Vision Mother and Child Welfare Health Care Centre:

For providing free treatment and free medicines of area personals; and to provide basic health care facilities for Mother and Child. We have served 2000 patients till date with free treatment and free medicines.

5.Vision Welfare Clinic:

For poor and needy people of suburb area of Surjani Town, Karachi.Till date served 800 patients with treatment and medicines.

6.Radio Vision Pakistan:

A web based Online Radio Channel; the unique thing in this radio is the Rj’s who conducted online radio programs are Visually Impaired.

7.Writers Bank:

Till date we serve 13 Blind Students to assists in their exams as “Writers” free of cost.

8.Disables Awareness Stall and Workshop:

Till that 3 Awareness stalls and 1 Workshop has been done, more than 5000 visitors visited at our stall and more than 40 participants attended the workshop.

9.Free Medical Camps:

Till date we have organized 3 Free Medical Camps in which more than 1000 Patients has been treated in different remote areas of Karachi. Most of them are children and women, and provided free medicines, treatments, specially include those complete EPI Vaccinations for Children, and special discounts on Laboratory test.

10.Training Of CNG Drivers:

Training of CNG Bus Drivers & Part of Certificate Distribution Ceremony of CNG Bus Drivers by City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal. With our working it was the first time that A Blind Person stands in front of Drivers and discusses his problems faced in public transportation system.
